So, to clarify who you would like to see as the next President of Armenia, 69.7% of respondents found it difficult to answer, 3.7% voted for the candidacy of the head of the "Republic" party Aram Sargsyan, 2.4% - Vahagn Khachaturyan (presidential candidate nominated by the ruling power). Second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, head of the "Bright Armenia" party Edmon Marukyan and RA Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan received the 0.7% each. RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, former RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and political scientist Levon Shirinyan received 0.6% each. Resigned Armen Sarkissian 0.4%, another 19% gave other answers.
At the same time, when asked to evaluate the work of the resigned President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, only 2.6% of respondents said that they positively assess his activities during his tenure, another 20.4% - rather positively, 17.8% - rather negatively, 30.5% - extremely negatively , another 28.6% found it difficult to answer.
On January 23, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian resigned. Today, on February 1, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan signed a protocol on the termination of the powers of President Armen Sarkissian. Early presidential elections will be held in the republic in March.
The ruling party "Civil Contract" nominated Minister of High-Tech Industry Vahagn Khachaturyan for the post of President of the Republic of Armenia. The opposition refused to take any part in the upcoming elections, calling them illegal.
It should be noted that the survey was conducted through telephone calls to residents of Yerevan in the period from January 24 to February 2 this year. 800 people attended it. Poll margin of error +/- 3.5%.
