ArmInfo.More than half of the respondents in Yerevan are against opening the border with Turkey. This is evidenced by the survey data of the MPG consulting company (Marketing Professional Group - the exclusive representative of the International Association GALLUP in Armenia).
So, to the question whether you approve of the opening of the border between Armenia and Turkey, only 6.9% of the respondents gave an unambiguously affirmative answer, 15.6% rather yes, 7.6% rather no, and 54.6% opposed. At the same time, 15.3% of respondents found it difficult to answer. Thus, 62.2% of respondents in Yerevan are rather against opening the border with Turkey.
At the same time, a little more than half of the citizens spoke out against the decision of the Armenian government to lift the embargo on Turkish goods.
So, when asked to express their attitude towards the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia of December 2020, on the refusal to extend the ban on the import of goods with Turkish labels into the country, 18.2% of the respondents said that they unambiguously support this decision of the executive body, 20% - rather support, 11.8% - rather do not support, 39.2% - do not support at all, another 10.8% found it difficult to answer.
The survey was conducted through telephone calls to residents of Yerevan from January 24 to February 2 this year. 800 people attended it. Poll margin of error +/- 3.5%.
