ArmInfo.The confidence of the citizens of Armenia in the political course of the country is falling. This is evidenced by the results of a sociological study conducted by the American International Republican Institute (IRI), which was conducted in Armenia from November 22 to December 5, 2021. The level of statistical error of the study, which covered 1512 respondents across the country, is +/- 2.5%.
Thus, to the question whether Armenia is moving in the right direction or in the wrong direction, 46% of the respondents answered that in the wrong direction, 34% supported the country's course, another 20% found it difficult to answer.
It is noteworthy that if compared with the results of the polls in May and July 2021, then there is a decrease in support for the country's course. So, in May 2021, 43% of respondents supported the country's course, and in July already 41%. At the same time, 20% and 34% of respondents, respectively, did not support it. The dynamics of those who do not decide has also changed. It was 37% in May and 25% in July.
When asked to voce the two most important problems facing Armenia now, 34% of respondents mentioned territorial and border issues, 17% -the economy and unemployment, and 17% - the national security of the Republic of Armenia.
At the same time, to the question whether they are satisfied or dissatisfied with the development of democracy in the country, 11% of the respondents said that they were completely satisfied, 40% - to some extent satisfied, 21% - to some extent dissatisfied, 26% - completely dissatisfied.
At the same time, 61% of citizens believe that Armenia is governed in the interests of certain groups, and only 31% believe that the country is governed in the interests of the majority of the population.
At the same time, the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia was recognized by the respondents as the most reliable in terms of receiving information on foreign policy - 25%, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia is in second place - 15%, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in third place - 9%.
68% of those surveyed, in general, positively assessed the activities of the Ombudsman's office, and only 25% - negatively.
At the same time, 49% of respondents are generally satisfied with the work of the Prime Minister's Office (19% are very pleased, 30% are rather satisfied), 15% are rather dissatisfied, 33% are extremely dissatisfied, another 4% found it difficult to answer.
The majority of citizens negatively assessed the work of the country's parliament - 17% of the respondents are rather dissatisfied with their activities, 50% are extremely dissatisfied, 24% are rather satisfied and only 7% are satisfied.
The activities of the President's office were given a negative assessment - 53% of those polled generally negatively assessed the work of the office, and only 35% positively, another 11% found it difficult to answer.
And if, on the whole, citizens are satisfied with the functioning of the country's Armed Forces, 58% are generally satisfied and 37% are dissatisfied, but they are dissatisfied with the work of the army leadership. 54% of the respondents described it negatively, 40 %- positively.
