ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia sent to the National Security Service (NSS) the publication of Hetq stating that Armen Sarkissian was a citizen of another country before he became President.
As Adviser to the Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan told the Public Television of Armenia, the publication was transferred to the National Security Service, in view of the fact that back in April 2021, a criminal case was initiated on the fact of concealing the fact of Sarkissian's dual citizenship on the grounds of forgery of documents.
It should be reminded that on January 23, the day of the announcement of the resignation of President Armen Sarkissian, Hetq.am published an article titled "Armen Sarkissian's pyramid of lies has collapsed: the President resigned involuntarily." In particular, it notes that Armen Sarkissian until recently was a citizen of an island state in the Caribbean - Saint Kitts and Nevis. Thus, he did not have the right to be elected president. "All decrees signed by him, including laws, appointments of officials, elections, even the appointment of a prime minister, are illegal," the authors of the article say, adding that Sarkissian will most likely not return to Armenia, as he may face a criminal prosecution on the basis of forgery.
Yesterday, during an online press conference, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armen Sarkissian informed him of his decision by phone about 3.5 hours before the official announcement. Commenting on the publication of the media, he said that he was informed about it, but did not have time to read it.
