ArmInfo. There should be no restrictions on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. Head of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan stated this to journalists during a briefing.
In this context, he stressed that the format of the OSCE Minsk Group is the only platform for resolving this issue. "We continue to look forward to the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to the region, as the international community has stated that the conflict has not been resolved. We hope that their visit and further steps will create opportunities for finding a comprehensive and long-term solution", he said.
According to Grigoryan, the methods of finding a comprehensive, long-term solution must be exclusively political-diplomatic. At the same time, he stressed that it is necessary to continue working on the signing of a peace treaty, which provides for a number of conditions. In this regard, the Secretary of the Security Council pointed to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the deblockade, delimitation and demarcation of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "This will allow us to lay the foundations for a peace treaty," he stressed.
At the end of 2021, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed readiness to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan. "Of course, we are interested in starting negotiations on this topic and in signing the peace treaty itself. Recently, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs proposed an agenda for negotiations, one of the points of which was the issue of a comprehensive peace settlement. And yes, we are interested in this", said the head of government.
