ArmInfo. RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Karen Trchunyan and a delegation of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) discussed cooperation at different levels.
Mr Trchunyan said that, as a DAAD graduate, he is well aware of the existing problems. The ministry is ready for enhancing the cooperation efficiency.
In this context, he expressed hope that the DAAD will increase funding of educational programmes in Armenia at different levels. In its turn, the Armenian side will do its best to ensure high-quality applications for grants.
The sides discussed cooperation between higher schools and stressed that DAAD members' regular visits to Armenia's higher schools and provision of up-to-date information will increase the number of applicants.
Mr Trchunyan proposed increasing not only the number of summer scholarships for Armenia, but also that of grants for young academics and teachers.
The DAAD delegation proposed considering implementation of a co-funded education and research programme of supporting young scientists.
The sides also discussed the implementation of individual projects with Armenia and regional projects, as well as mutual recognition of credits and certificates.
