ArmInfo.NATO hopes to continue high-level political dialogue and broad practical cooperation with Azerbaijan in the future, the North Atlantic Alliance told Trend.
"During his recent visit to the region, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Javier Colomina met with a number of Azerbaijani officials. At the meetings, issues of cooperation between NATO and Azerbaijan were considered, including the resumption of interaction with the Azerbaijani authorities within the "Planning and Analysis Process" program, the organization reports.
As for the situation in the South Caucasus, NATO noted that the North Atlantic Alliance hopes to see steps to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Armenia and Azerbaijan are valuable partners of NATO. We call on the parties to avoid actions that could lead to renewed violence. Unresolved issues should be resolved through diplomacy. We welcome the dialogue both within the Minsk Group and outside this framework, we hope to see steps to normalize relations between the two countries", NATO stated.
