ArmInfo. The Armenian government is expanding funding within the framework of reproductive programs to families who have lost children during combat operations or on a combat post. The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on January 13.
As RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan explained, the project provides for 100% coverage of expenses for assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Thus, state compensation for surrogate motherhood services will amount to no more than 5.5 million drams (about $11.3 thousand) and donor services - up to 600 thousand drams (about $1.24 thousand).
The program will be available to women up to 53 years of age. The budget of the program in 2022 will be about 150 million drams (about $309,000).
