On January 13, the Government of Armenia, in an undiscussed manner, decided to dismiss Razmik Tevonyan from the post of the governor of Ararat and appoint to this post his son, MP of the ruling faction Sedrak Tevonyan.
Razmik Tevonyan was appointed Governor of Ararat region on December 10, 2020. On September 9, 2021, he submitted his resignation. The next day, on the Facebook page of the regional administration, he refuted rumors that his resignation was connected "with the signing of a document on the surrender of Tigranashen." "I officially declare that the rumors about the transfer of Tigranashen are far-fetched, this has never been discussed and will not be discussed. Please refrain from false and groundless speculation," he wrote. He later withdrew his application.
Sedrak Tevonyan was born on February 16, 1990 in the village of Aralez, Ararat region. In 2011 Graduated from the Faculty of Technology of Fermentation Production and Winemaking of the State Agrarian University of Armenia, having received a bachelor's degree in engineering and technology, specializing in technology of fermentation production and winemaking. Since 2011, he has been engaged in family business in the field of viticulture and horticulture. On December 9, 2018, he was elected to the National Assembly from electoral district N 5 of the territorial electoral list of the My Step bloc of parties. He was re-elected in the extraordinary elections to the National Assembly on June 20, 2021, on January 4 he submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the National Assembly.
