ArmInfo.Over the past year, the efficiency of the work of the bodies of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has significantly increased. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on December 20, congratulating the NSS employees on the National Security Officer's Day.
According to Pashinyan, after the catastrophic war of 2020, Armenia was able to overcome the phase of a deep political, psychological crisis and a crisis of confidence, "without worsening the situation." "I would like to draw your attention to the fact that after November 2020 (the signing of a trilateral statement on a ceasefire - ed. note), there was not a single shooting on the territory of the Republic of Armenia and, in fact, there were no civil clashes," - he said, emphasizing that the NSS, in its turn, also contributed to it.
In this regard, according to Pashinyan, salaries, payments, monetary satisfaction in the bodies responsible for statehood, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the country do not correspond to the tasks that are assigned to them. "I am not saying that now we should solve all these problems in one action, but we must fix all this in order to be able to organize our work correctly. Especially now, when, in fact, a new situation is developing in the region, when the Armenian government has declared opening an era of peaceful development for the region, which means that in this new environment, the tasks set for the NSS will become much more difficult, "he said. as the prime minister pointed out The task, , is difficult, but after the meetings in Sochi and in Brussels, Pashinyan sees an opportunity to move in this direction step by step.
Nikol Pashinyan also touched upon the statements on the possibilities of resolving the Karabakh conflict, since "the topic has been repeatedly discussed and will be discussed for a long time, maybe even centuries." "When it is said that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict could and should have been resolved in this way. Then why didn't they solve it? The Republic of Armenia has been involved in the process for a very long time, more than 20 years. We constantly heard political statements, but when we got access to the content of the negotiations, we saw that in many cases the political statements made in Armenia have nothing to do with the content that was formed at the negotiating table. We do not want to follow the same path, "Pashinyan said.
According to him, one should speak within the framework of the same content at closed consultations, in public statements and at the negotiating table. At the same time, he admits that these discussions cannot be completely identical, since any conversation on the topic of security contains a certain element of secrecy. The policy of the authorities, as the head of government assured, is as follows: both within the country and abroad say the same thing, since because of this, you can then fall into various traps.
