ArmInfo. In Yerevan, for many years in a row, perennial trees have been cut down and “peeled off” under various “plausible” reasons. As a result, the city gradually turns into a concrete desert with skyscrapers of dark windows.
So, now they finally reached the territory of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA) ... Since November, under the guise of landscaping a garden, more than 10 healthy trees of various sizes and ages have been cut down, including newly planted young trees.
It is just impossible to call this otherwise than an atrocity, due to the fact that the assessment of the viability of trees sentenced and convicted by that "gardeners and landscapers" to death, was not carried out at all. So the picture below demonstrates us how it was before ...
According to the expert opinion of the scientists of the basic research laboratory of Agrochemicals Creation and the Quality Control of the NPUA, and the laboratory of Ecological Safety of the Scientific and Production Center “Armbiotechnology” of National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, there were no symptoms of pests or diseases in the felled trees, what is also evidenced by the appearance of the trees captured in old photographs of NPUA garden.
The real reason of all of this is very simple and pragmatic: there are several plans to build a cafeteria on NPUA territory in terms of absence of buffets for students.
