ArmInfo. As a result of the efforts of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan, the issue of undergoing a PCR test for coronavirus when entering the territory of Armenia at the Bavra checkpoint was resolved from 10:00pm to 12:00am.
Despite the fact that the checkpoint was closed at midnight, the sampling for the diagnosis of coronavirus was carried out only until 10:00pm. In view of such unorganized work and the negligent attitude of the RA Ministry of Health, citizens were forced to spend the night in cars or on the benches of the checkpoint.
After the received alarm, the Ombudsman raised this issue with the representative of the RA Health and Labor Inspection Body, who confirmed the published information. The Human Rights Defender, on his own initiative, initiated a discussion of the issue and sent a letter to the Minister of Health of Armenia. As a result of the efforts made, the Ministry of Health ordered 3 companies to carry out their work on diagnosing coronavirus at the Bavra checkpoint every 3 days from 10:00p, to 12:00am.
