On the international parliamentary platforms, the CSTO member-states should take a coordinated stance on the issues of interest to the allied members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Armenian Parliament Vice-Speaker Hakob Arshakyan stated at an online panel discussion of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
In this context, he highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy and added that steps will be made to expand international parliamentary cooperation.
The challenges of recent years necessitate mobilization of efforts to ensure security and effective response to global challenges. Specifically, Arshakyan pointed out a need to improve emergency response mechanisms. In this context he highlighted crisis monitoring and prevention mechanisms.
"We are stressing a need for military cooperation between the CSTO member-states to improve combat readiness and mobility of the collective security forces," Arshakyan said.
He also pointed out a need for measures to respond to international security challenges and ensure long- term parliamentary cooperation in foreign policy and security.
"Armenia is open to cooperation in dealing with global and regional problems based on the principles of equal rights, mutual respect and interests," he said.
