ArmInfo. Moscow is for consistent implementation of the agreements reached by the Armenian-Azerbaijani and Russian leaders on November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, Maria Zakharova, Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a November 25 news briefing in response to a question as to whether Armenian customs officers will control the overland transport between Baku and Nakhichevan.
She noted that under the agreements all the communications and economic ties in the South Caucasus are to be unblocked. A trilateral work group headed by the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian vice-premier is dealing with this important task.
"As a matter of fact, all the issues were discussed during our vice-chair Alexey Overchuk`s visits to Yerevan and Baku. We can see good prospects for reaching agreements on unblocking the transport communications in the region, considering the parties` interests. We also proceed from the fact that international transportation along the unblocked routes will be based on international agreements and national laws," she said.
