Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk at a meeting on November 24 expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations, including cooperation in the economic sector, it was noted that trade turnover this year increased by 7 percent.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that Russian companies are showing great interest in Azerbaijan, the importance of Aliyev's support for this work was noted and it was reported that simultaneously with the meeting, negotiations were being held between the business circles of Azerbaijan and Russia.
At the meeting, the activities of Russian companies in the territories that came under Azerbaijani control after Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh, issues of increasing trade turnover and mutual investments were widely discussed.
During the conversation, an exchange of views was held on the activities of the trilateral commission chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as on future plans. Aliyev thanked Alexei Overchuk for his efforts in this area. It was also noted at the meeting that the early opening of transport communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia will contribute to stability and economic development in the region.
