ArmInfo.Azerbaijan's aggressive policy should be the subject of international discussion. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this, answering questions from the media and public organizations on the air.
He stressed that Azerbaijan wants to use the right of a winner in a war as such and start dictating conditions, but this is unacceptable, since there is no such concept even in international practice. Touching upon the expressions voiced by the Azerbaijani president about the corridor, Pashinyan once again described this as an encroachment on the sovereign territory of Armenia. "What does the Zangezur corridor, eastern Zangezur mean? Who comes up with these expressions? We have not discussed and are not discussing the corridor issue. But this does not mean that we refuse to unblock transport and economic communications," he stressed. In this regard, the Prime Minister emphasized that this is exactly what is said in the signed trilateral statements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021. "If in the trilateral statement of November 9, under any item, we meant a "sovereign corridor", then we would write it down as a "sovereign corridor". Moreover, in this document, the term "corridor" is used in the expression "Lachin corridor", which is under the control of the Russian Federation," Pashinyan noted. At the same time, he noted that within the framework of the trilateral working group there have never been any demands from Azerbaijan on the corridor. The January 11 statement spoke of the use of roads on a parity basis and stipulates that the roads will operate within the framework of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country along which the latter pass. However, now, as the Prime Minister noted, the Azerbaijani authorities declare that if Armenia does not provide the corridor, it will take it through an annexation war. Pashinyan stressed once again that such behavior should receive an international reaction. , According to the Prime Minister, Armenia stating that it is ready to provide through its territory a railway and automobile connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan, will decide for itself through which territories this road will pass. "If Azerbaijan thinks that it can decide for Armenia how to build roads, then this will not happen," the head of government stressed.
"The authorities in Azerbaijan are trying to develop the logic of the corridor, which does not exist. And if someone in Armenia shouts that the government is surrendering territories, then they should understand that if the Armenian government really had such an intention, then there would be no shots in Syunik, "he concluded.
