ArmInfo. Yerevan Municipality announces an open public tender for the introduction of a unified ticket sales system and selection of a financial operator for public transport.
As reported by the Yerevan Municipality, the introduction of the ticket system in public transport provides for a program of comprehensive improvement of the sector, without which the new route network will not be able to fully function.
The new program, as noted in the city administration, will improve the quality of service in the field of public transport, provide a convenient ticket purchase service, and ensure the transparency of the system, increase the number of passengers and income, reduce maintenance costs. In order to improve safety, the sale of tickets directly on buses will be excluded, the waiting time for transport at stops will be reduced, and the average speed of fixed-route taxis will be increased.
Legal entities can participate in the competition. Tender packages are accepted within 10 working days from the date of publication of tenders. The open tender is held in one round. The deadline for submission of packages is no later than 10 working days after the public announcement of the tender - December 7.
On September 14 this year at the first meeting of the 7th session of the Council of Elders of Yerevan, mayor of the Armenian capital Hayk Marutyan said that in the near future a unified system of electronic payments for travel in transport will be introduced in Yerevan, which will allow paying by bank cards, smartphones and other means. According to him, the requirement to pay only in 100-dram coins in new small buses is also one of the features of the transition period.
