"Today we are monitoring the Askeran region along the line of demarcation of the sides, we are monitoring the situation within the framework of ensuring security. From time to time we make stops in settlements, talk to local residents about the violation of the peace agreement", said the representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent Andrei Kasyanov. At twenty-seven observation posts, Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and control over the observance of the ceasefire regime.
In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and cessation all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced. A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
