ArmInfo.Lower-rate COVID-19 spread has been recorded in Armenia, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told a news briefing.
Regrettably, the number of deaths and grave cases remains high, with the downward trend in such cases two or three weeks behind the lowering COVID-19 spread rate. The minister is hopeful that the death rate will lower in a week.
Due to the lower infection rates, hospitals are capable of admitting patients. "All the patients in need of hospital treatment are hospitalized. And it is most important in the context proper and timely treatment," the minister said.
As of November 17, a total of 23,865 people are receiving treatment. A total of 330,895 COVID-19 cases (14.6% of tested citizens) have been recorded in Armenia since the pandemic outbreak in Armenia, with 298,492 recoveries (90.2%), and 7,152 deaths (2.1%). 1,394 patients died of other causes. A total of 2,271,138 COVID-19 tests have been made in Armenia.
As of November 14, 2021, 1,004,49 doses of COVID-9 vaccines were use in Armenia, with 682,188 first peoples receiving the first dose, and 322,305 people the second dose (11% of the country`s population). According to the official reports for this September, the share of foreign citizens vaccinated in Armenia was 4% of the total number of vaccinated residents.
