ArmInfo. All the recent actions of the opposition are not motivated by anything, and, accordingly, they are not able to have an effect on overcoming the existing problems in Armenia and the current internal political crisis. On the contrary, they are aimed at further aggravating them. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by the public and political figure Garegin Miskaryan.
"The problems, challenges and threats that have arisen in our country and the tactics adopted by the parliamentary opposition over the past year are at least completely incomparable in their importance. In this light, I do not see the need to pay special attention to the rallies and their other steps, especially to their statements," he stressed.
Commenting on the prospects for the influence on the internal political situation in Armenia of the scheduled for signing the next agreements with Azerbaijan, Miskaryan stressed the importance of the content of such a document. But, according to his assessments, today there is no reason to expect an internal explosion, to expect tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people to protest against the current government in this regard. "Prospects entirely depend on the content of the proposed peace treaty, agreement or the next trilateral statement with the participation of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan. Therefore, it is premature to predict an imminent explosion of popular discontent as a result of the signing of peace with Azerbaijan, regardless of the content of the proposed agreement", he noted.
"It is necessary to understand that the reality, which the opposition often points to, and the reality that exists at the present time, shall we say, are significantly different from each other. In this light, we will fix an important, in my opinion, fact: Numerous fears and disappointing predictions voiced in the streets by the representatives of both the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary opposition have not come true so far. In particular, it refers to the readiness of the Armenian leadership to sign a document very unfavorable for our country, which they have declared as an indisputable fact. The deadline was even mentioned - November 9. "But we see that even the Pashinyan-Putin-Aliyev meeting did not take place," Miskaryan concluded.
