ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on a working visit to Brussels, met with European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy r Oliver Varhelyi.
As reported by the RA MFA press service, the RA Foreign Minister and the European Commissioner exchanged views on the further development of Armenia-EU relations, including sectoral cooperation with the European Union.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the aid package within the framework of the EU economic and investment plan and further effective cooperation within the framework of the principles of the Eastern Partnership.
During the meeting, issues of regional security and stability were also discussed. Mirzoyan noted that a comprehensive and long-term settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is possible only within the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
They touched upon humanitarian problems arising as a result of Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the need for unconditional and early repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages and other captured citizens.
