ArmInfo. The National Assembly of Armenia today will hold an urgent closed session on the issue of prisoners of war and persons held by Azerbaijan.
As Speaker of the parliament Alen Simonyan stated, at least one fifth of the total number of MPs in an official written statement proposed to organize an emergency discussion on the topic of public interest "Problems of clarifying the fate and returning prisoners of war, hostages, missing persons and other captured citizens to their homeland."
The MPs accepted the proposal with 61 votes in favor. The discussion will take place behind closed doors. Representatives of the competent authorities will act as co-rapporteurs.
It should be noted that the "Hayastan" and "I have the honor" opposition factions of the National Assembly of Armenia announced a boycott of the work of the next session of the parliament, since yesterday the ruling majority refused to appeal to organize hearings on the situation at the border.
