ArmInfo.The "Hayastan" and "I Have the Honor opposition factions of the National Assembly of Armenia " announced a boycott of the work of the next session of the parliament, since yesterday the ruling majority refused to appeal to organize hearings on the situation at the border.
As head of the "Armenia" faction Seyran Ohanyan stated, the "Civil Contract" faction did not meet the demands of the opposition to clarify the situation on the borders of Armenia. "In protest, the opposition decided to boycott the next session of the National Assembly," Ohanyan said.
Hayk Mamijanyan, secretary of the "I Have the Honor" faction, in turn stated that they would support the protest of the "Hayastan" faction. According to him, instead of giving answers to the questions of concern to everyone, the ruling faction has put on the agenda the discussion of the law "On mercury". In this regard, as Mamijanyan pointed out, they will return to the conference room when the topical issues are properly discussed. "We will not participate in your mercury party," he stressed.
It should be noted that the next plenary session has begun in the National Assembly of Armenia today. There are 33 issues on the agenda of the meeting, including the draft state budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2022.
Yesterday, on November 15, during a meeting of the parliamentary council, the "Hayastan" and "I Have the Honor" opposition factions proposed to hold an extraordinary meeting on November 15 at 8:00pm and invite Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to clarify the situation at the border. However, Speaker of the parliament Alen Simonyan refused to convene an extraordinary session.
