ArmInfo. At the meeting with Charge d'Affaires of the Georgian Embassy in Armenia Irakli Kvanchakhadze, RA Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan pointed to the importance of active and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
Taking into account the similarity of natural disasters that threaten Armenia and Georgia, Piloyan stressed the importance of close cooperation between the relevant structures in the field of emergency situations, the basis for which was laid in 1997 by the Agreement on Cooperation in the Prevention of Natural Disasters and Elimination of Their Consequences.
In turn, Irakli Kvanchakhadze thanked the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations team for the assistance provided to Georgian partners in 2017 in extinguishing forest fires in the Kharagauli National Reserve in Borjomi.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Emergency Situations thanked the guests for the visit and expressed hope that the project for expanding cooperation between the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs will be implemented in 2022-2023.
