ArmInfo. The Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia continues to point out serious humanitarian problems in the Syunik region of the country caused by the actions of Azerbaijan.
Thus, the statement of the RA Ombudsman points to the complicated communication between the settlements of Goris, Vorotan, Shurnukh, Bardzravan and others, due to illegal actions and obstacles to traffic on the part of Azerbaijan.
"These cities and villages have already introduced serious restrictions on access to food and basic necessities, medical care and services. This poses a real danger to people. Today in the villages of Vorotan, Shurnukh and Bardzravan, the delivery of bread was organized with great difficulty. According to the Office of the Human Rights Defender, the bread was delivered to the indicated villages after 4:00 pm with additional efforts by the Goris authorities," the statement said.
The Ombudsman's Office also pointed out the impossibility of organizing the educational process in schools. "Because of the current situation, teachers living in Goris, but teaching in Bardzravan and Kapan, organized training remotely, as they could not get to schools. Difficulties arise in solving various problems caused by the actions of Azerbaijan. For example, today in Shurnukha, due to weather conditions, an urgent need arose to repair the roof of one of the houses, but it was impossible to obtain the necessary building materials. The above-mentioned facts prove that the so-called border customs control on the Goris-Kapan road in Armenia, announced yesterday by the Azerbaijani government, completely violated normal life, peace and safety of people, the right to physical and mental integrity and freedom of movement, '' the Ombudsman's Office said in a statement, at the same time, it is added that the border troops of the National Security Service of Armenia are serving to ensure the safety of the population. The Ombudsman will send reports on the situation in Syunik to international organizations, as well as to state bodies and non-governmental organizations of Armenia.
