ArmInfo.The Prosecutor's Office of Armenia has launched a criminal investigation into the incident involving a resident of the Khachik village, Vaiots Dzor, Armenia, who came under fire by Azerbaijani troops while doing agricultural work.
At 2:30pm, Nov. 9, Azerbaijani troops opened fire at the tractor being driven by T. Asatryan.
"The tractor was damaged and Asatryan could escape. The attempted murder failed. A criminal investigation into the incident has been launched on Point 13 of Part 2 of Count 34-304," reads the report. According to the information exchange agreement between the prosecutors-general of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan involving offences along the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line, and in connection with the Azerbaijani troops' attempt to murder a civilian doing agricultural work in Armenia's sovereign territory, which is one more penal infringement on the right to life of civilians in the borderline settlement, the information on ceasefire violation has been reported to the Russian side for it to assess the incident. With the same end in view, the Russian side has received the information on the fire opened at Artsakh civilians who were repairing a water pipe on the Shushi-Berdzor road, when one man was killed and three injured.
Armenia's Ombusman Arman Tatoyan condemned the enemy's act and stressed an urgent need for forming a demilitarized zone and withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from Armenia villages and roads.
