ArmInfo. Former secretary of the ruling Civil Contract faction Nazeli Baghdasaryan has been appointed governor of the Shirak region of Armenia. The RA government on November 8 in the format of a written vote approved the corresponding resolution. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan presented the document.
Nazeli Baghdasaryan resigned her parliamentary mandate at the end of September. The former governor of Shirak region was relieved of his post on November 4 (he was appointed head of the region on January 21, 2021) and on November 8, he was appointed deputy minister of territorial development and infrastructures. In the elections to local self-government bodies on October 17, Harutyunyan was a candidate for mayor of Gyumri from the ruling Civil Contract party. However, the ruling party in Gyumri was defeated.
Baghdasaryan was born on August 8, 1983, in Leninakan (now - Gyumri). In 2005- graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Moscow International Academy of Entrepreneurship. Master of Laws, she participated in the courses of educational programs for radio managers "Radio Network Management" of the US International Development Agency (2008, Ukraine) and media jurists of the Kiev Institute for Democracy and Rule of Law (2017). 1999-2006 - host of programs of the TV company "Tsayg". 2003-2005 2003-2006 - Assistant to the Deputy Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, 2005-2006 - Lecturer at the Yerevan branch of the Modern Humanitarian Academy (Moscow). 2005-2018 - Head of "Radio Hay Gyumri" radio station. 2006-2018 - Lawyer of "Tsayg" LLC. Since 2012 - the author and presenter of the cycle of TV programs "In reality" of the TV company "Tsayg". Since 2012 - media expert in the field of political and commercial campaigns. 2014-2019 - the founder-owner of Style Media LLC. Since 2015- mentor of courses in public speaking and journalism. August 21,2018- January14, 2019 - Adviser to the governor of Shirak region. Since 2011 - a full member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ). In 2017-2019 - Member of the Board of Trustees of the "Gyumri without Houses" foundation. Since 2018 - Member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Youth Initiatives (YIC) in Gyumri. On December 9, 2018, she was elected to the National Assembly from electoral district # 11 of the territorial electoral list of the "My Step" bloc of parties.
