


ArmInfo.Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan received on Friday President of the RF Academy of Sciences, Academician Alexander Sergeyev.
Armenia's premier highlighted the expansion of Armenian-Russian scientific cooperation. He is hopeful that during their visit to Armenia Russian scientists will discuss with their Armenian counterparts possible implementation of joint projects, with effective cooperation between academic circles. Science and education are among the Armenian government's priorities: the country's 2022 science budget is expected to increase by 85%, which is significance evidence of the government's stance. Academician Sergeyev highlighted the Russian side's interest in cooperating with Armenian scientists and researchers and mentioned specific proposals on the agenda. Academician Sergeyev pointed out high-level cooperation between Armenian and Russian scientists in the Soviet era, and Armenian scientists' great contribution. The Russian academician highlighted the implementation of joint projects involving new technologies, exchange of experience and training and retraining of young scientists.
Armenia's premier welcomed the initiatives to expand the Armenian-Russian scientific ties, and stressed the Armenian government's willingness to support their realization. Science could be one of the priorities of Armenian-Russian strategic cooperation, the premier said.
