Governor of Shirak region resigns

ArmInfo.Secretary of the ruling "Civil Contract" faction Nazeli Baghdasaryan has resigned, the press service of the RA National Assembly reports.

According to the rules of the National Assembly, if within one week  after the submission of  the resignation a MP withdraws his/her  resignation by a written statement, then the Speaker of the  Parliament makes a statement about this, if he/she does not withdraw  his/her resignation, a protocol is drawn up on the termination of  his/her powers, which is signed and announced by the Speaker of the  parliament. From the moment of publication of the minutes, the  resignation letter is considered accepted.

According to media reports, Baghdasaryan will be offered the post of  governor of Shirak region - she will replace current governor  Hovhannes Harutyunyan, who was defeated in the elections as the head  of the Gyumri community.
