ArmInfo.Only 13% of the adult population of Armenia was fully vaccinated, that is, about 263 thousand people received the double vaccine. Anahit Hovhannisyan, Minister of Health of the country, stated this at a government meeting.
At the same time, according to her, the total number of those who have already received the first dose of vaccines is already approaching 30% of the adult population. She noted that the healthcare system is working in a very busy mode today, but the department is ready, if necessary, to increase the number of beds for patients with coronavirus. She also stressed that vaccination remains the only way to reduce deaths and normalize the epidemiological situation in the country. According to her, out of more than 3 thousand people hospitalized to date with COVID-19, only 97 are vaccinated, however, she did not mention whether they received the double vaccine. The minister also noted that the daily number of vaccinations in the country today is approaching 25 thousand, but the state has a sufficient number of vaccines and the ability to significantly increase this figure.
Speaking at a government meeting on this occasion, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, again urged citizens to be vaccinated more actively, since there is no other alternative to normalizing the epidemiological situation in the country. He noted that the government will in no way agree to new lockdowns, but will continue to strictly demand compliance with the mask regime. He called for more active work to increase the responsibility and consciousness of citizens, especially in the regions of the country.
