ArmInfo. The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan invaded the territory of Armenia not only in the direction of the villages of the Gegharkunik region and in the Sev Lich region of the Syunik region, but also in the direction of the Syunik village of Tsav.
RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan said this during a press conference in Yerevan on November 3, adding that already in the fall of last year, the enemy advanced 1-1.5 km, gaining a foothold at an altitude in the immediate vicinity of the village.
In this regard, the Human Rights Defender (HRD) of the Republic of Armenia once again stated the urgent need to establish a demilitarized security zone in the areas of contact with the Azerbaijani military as the main guarantee of protecting the rights of the population in Armenia. He also presented the details of the deployment of the Azerbaijani military near the Kapan airport, and spoke about the dangers of this deployment.
Then, on an interactive map, Tatoyan showed the locations of the Azerbaijani military in the immediate vicinity of Armenian villages and on intercommunal roads, which violate fundamental human rights, including the right to free movement.
In this vein, the Ombudsman again emphasized the illegality of the deployment of Azerbaijani signe plates on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, the absence of legal norms for this, as well as the obstruction of the free movement of persons, including foreigners, who are legally present on the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
"Why, when Azerbaijan declares that this road is ours, we so easily agree with this and begin to build an alternative road, giving up this one. Well, then let's build alternative villages and cities. Maybe tomorrow the Azerbaijanis will bring maps and say this village is also ours. We have studied all the maps in detail since 1920, and I can say with confidence that the Azerbaijani side has always used the ethnic factor to seize the Armenian territories. What did they do, populated some territory with Azerbaijanis, and then they said, Azerbaijanis live here, that means this is our territory. The Azerbaijani authorities persuaded their citizens and they attacked Armenian villages, wrote complaints against our citizens in order to seize these territories in the future. But this does not mean that if you have temporarily settled somewhere, then you have the right to seize the historical Armenian lands," the Ombudsman noted, adding that alternative roads should be built from the point of view of security, but this does not mean at all that we should give up the old ones.
The Ombudsman also said that the presented detailed document based on evidence will be sent to government agencies and international organizations.
