ArmInfo.As the Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, I continue to insist on the  circumstances indicated in the statement of the Defense Ministry  regarding the statements of RA Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan of October 23  regarding the engineering work carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed  Forces.

Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan stated this  answering the question of MP from the "I Have Honor" opposition bloc  Taguhi Tovmasyan, for what purpose the Defense Ministry refuted the  statement of the RA Ombudsman regarding the fortification work  carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces invading the RA  territory, the facts that are obvious to all and do not need  refutation.

"If the Ombudsman of Armenia has additional information, of course he  can provide it. I trust our Armed Forces, on the basis of the data  from which our press service compiled and disseminated this message,"  Sargsyan said.

At the same time, in response to Tovmasyan's remark that the  fortification work carried out by the enemy is visible even with the  naked eye and it is not clear what exactly the RA Ministry of Defense  Ombudsman said was denied by the Ombudsman, the Deputy Minister  assured that the Ministry of Defense has never categorically denied  the information that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are attempting  engineering work. at the places of accommodation.

At the same time, Sargsyan noted that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces  are making attempts to build roads to the positions, use heavy  equipment to carry out strengthening work, but these attempts are  suppressed. "To make attempts and present them as the fact that  fortification work is being carried out: "Naturally, they are doing  everything to equip their places of deployment, or, so to speak, to  gain advantages, but these actions are promptly suppressed by our  local military units," Sargsyan assured.

Meanwhile, continuing the theme with the scandal in connection with  the message of the Ombudsman about the strengthening work carried out  by the enemy in Gegharkunik, MP from the "Armenia" bloc Aram  Vardevanyan noted that the Human Rights Defender in this case raised  important issues related to the rights of residents of the border  area, addressed attention to the fact that the enemy has invaded the  sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and is consolidating  on it, and in this statement nothing negative was said about the  Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

"This statement of the Ombudsman was in defense of the state and  national interests of the RA. Meanwhile, the statement of the RA  Ministry of Defense gave fertile ground for the Azerbaijani media,  which took advantage of this to denigrate the Ombudsman. "Do you  consider such an approach of the RA Ministry of Defense, to put it  mildly, wrong?" Vardevanyan asked.

To which the Deputy Minister noted that the Ministry of Defense had  healthy cooperation with the Ombudsman's Office. "And for such a  reaction, And I think there are reasons for such a reaction. I am not  the commander of the corps of this sector in order to have more  detailed information. However, the statement of the RA Ministry of  Defense is based on the information provided by the military  personnel from the abovementioned areas. And in its statement,  the  RA Ministry of Defense, in addition to condemnation, also called on  the Ombudsman not to disseminate unverified information, "Sargsyan  said, expressing his conviction that in order not to become the main  hero of Azerbaijani top news, one should refrain from disseminating  unverified information. At the same time, he added that sometimes it  is in the national interest to avoid publishing even verified data,  since they will not bring any benefit, but they can do harm.
