ArmInfo. Armenia is exploring the possibility of joining the European Migration Network as an observer.
Thus, according to the message received by ArmInfo, the employees of the Migration Service of Armenia, headed by head of the service Armen Ghazaryan, held a meeting with the delegation of the European Migration Network to discuss the possibility of joining the network of the Republic of Armenia as an observer.
The aim of the European Migration Network, created by the Council of the Organization in 2008, is to meet the information needs of the authorities of the participating States and the migration institutions and asylum institutions by providing impartial, reliable, relevant and comparable information to support EU policymakers. The Network is designed as a reliable source of information for the general public.
It is also noted that the European Migration Network, if necessary, establishes effective cooperation links between EU member states and other countries of the European Neighborhood Policy.
During the meeting Armen Ghazaryan expressed his readiness to share Armenia's experience in the field of migration, as well as to receive information on the activities, structure and experience of the Network.
Representative of the European Migration Network, Adolfo Sommaribas, in turn, expressed his readiness to establish direct, transparent cooperation through the exchange of experience to create stable working relations.
It is also noted that in 2021 Georgia and Moldova joined the Network as observers.
