ArmInfo.As of October 17 of this year, 588 385 people were vaccinated against coronavirus in Armenia, of which 403 431 received the first component, and 184 954 received the second, respectively.
As of September 6 of this year, the number of vaccinated citizens in Armenia was 303,325, of which 96% are citizens of the Republic of Armenia, and, accordingly, 4% are foreigners. The most active vaccination process takes place among citizens whose age group ranges from 31 to 65 years (over 68%).
To note, earlier the Ministry of Health of Armenia made amendments to the requirements for compliance with anti-epidemiological norms. In particular, according to decision 65 N of the Minister of Health, from October 14, workers are required to submit a negative PCR test result to the employer every 14 days. The test certificate must be received no later than 72 hours, the test is carried out at the expense of the employee. Restrictions do not apply to people who have completed the full course of vaccination, or received one dose of the drug and are waiting for a second dose, pregnant women and those who have a temporary or permanent contraindication to vaccination.
After that, the government of Armenia, represented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, initiated legislative amendments to the Labor Code and the RA Law "On Civil Service", so that the employer could legally dismiss an employee if he/she refuses to be vaccinated or does not present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result.
To note, As of October 18 of this year, in total, 283,183 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the country, while 254,932 people recovered, the number of deaths reached 5805. Anti-COVID preparations of Russian production (Sputnik V), British-Swedish (AstraZeneca) and Chinese (CoronaVac and Sinopharm ) are available in Armenia without any restrictions. In early October, the Spikevax vaccine produced by the American company Moderna was also delivered.
