ArmInfo. Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation within the CIS, as well as further expansion and deepening of bilateral relations with all CIS member states. Head of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov stated this during his speech at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS states in Minsk.
He said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to peacekeeping efforts, including the activities of the Russian-Turkish Monitoring Center, Turan reports.
At the same time, Bayramov assured that "the conflict is a thing of the past and now the main goal is to restore the "liberated" territories and ensure the return of internally displaced persons to their native lands."
"Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia on the basis of respect for international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders. Baku called for the start of the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders with Armenia in accordance with these principles," Bayramov said, not mentioning that since May of this year, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan has illegally invaded in the sovereign territories of Armenia.
The minister emphasized that Azerbaijan is committed to fulfilling the obligations arising from the trilateral statements of November 10, 2020 and January 11, 2021, including agreements on the opening of all communications in the region. At the same time, Bayramov did not say anything about the fact that on October 9 it was the Azerbaijani sniper who killed the civilian of Nagorno-Karabakh, and forgot that it was the authorities of the Azerbaijan Republic that continued to illegally detain hundreds of Armenian prisoners of war in violation of the agreements voiced by him.
