ArmInfo.External Affairs Minister of India (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Armenia on October 12-13. This was reported on the website of the Indian Foreign Ministry.
"This will be the first ever-visit of an External Affairs Minister of India to independent Armenia. He will have meetings with his Armenian counterpart as well as call on the Prime Minister and President of the National Assembly of Armenia," the message reads. According to the source, EAM of India will pay an official visit to Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and Armenia from 10-13 October 2021. In particular, Jaishankar will be in Kyrgyz Republic on 10-11 October, from 11-12 October, he will be in Kazakhstan to attend the 6th Ministerial meeting of the Conference of Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Nur-Sultan. Jaishankar is also expected to hold bilateral talks with the leadership of Kazakhstan.
"The visit will provide an opportunity for reviewing the progress in our bilateral ties with the three countries as well as share views on developments in the region. It will be a continuation of our increased engagement with countries in our 'extended neighbourhood'," the message also notes.
To recall, on October 6, during the government hour in parliament, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, referring to the talks with his Iranian counterpart on regional infrastructure projects, opening communications and new transit routes, including the international transport corridor "Persian Gulf - Black Sea" , stressed the high interest of India in the latest project. Then he said that in a few days the head of the Indian Foreign Ministry would visit Armenia.
