ArmInfo.Head of the Hayastan opposition faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan does not see the danger of war in the near future. He stated this on October 8 at a briefing in the National Assembly.
According to him, it is impossible to make accurate predictions and conclusions regarding the likelihood of the start of new military operations, since the opposition is not familiar with the assessment of the Armenian authorities "on the degree of fragility of the security environment," including in terms of regional threats from the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, and problems, associated with a possible invasion of the South Caucasus. According to the former defense minister, it was the "appetite" of this tandem that forced Iran to conduct military exercises to ensure the security of its borders.
"In order to make a realistic assessment, to draw conclusions about the possible start of hostilities, it is necessary to fully have the tasks that are discussed in the Security Council, the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff. The threat of war is always present, but in today's conditions I do not think that it is possible in the near future ", Ohanyan said.
