Russia supports the decision to start the procedure for admitting Iran to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, made during the SCO summit in Dushanbe. It have always advocated the full-fledged participation of Iran, which will help to increase the international authority of the organization.

In the context of the still difficult sanitary and epidemiological situation in the world, effective practical cooperation has been established between Moscow and Tehran, including through relevant departments, in the field of countering the spread of COVID-19. The supplies of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V to Iran continue. The Iranian authorities have also approved the use of the Sputnik Light single-component vaccine in the country, which will accelerate the vaccination of the population and form population immunity. The Russian side hopes that effective domestic drugs will help Iranian friends to defeat the virus as soon as possible.
