Security Council Secretary: There can be no sovereign corridor on the  territory of Armenia

ArmInfo.There can be no sovereign corridor on the territory of Armenia.  A similar opinion was expressed by the Secretary of the Security Council of the  Republic of Armenia Armen Grigoryan during an interview with Public  Television.

In this context, he explained that only corridors or roads in Armenia  can be opened, which Azerbaijanis or Turks can use to communicate  with Nakhichevan. "This option is possible, but these roads will be  under the control of sovereign Armenia," Grigoryan stressed, noting  that Armenia sees an opportunity to discuss the issue and achieve  mutual understanding. He touched upon the statement of the Turkish  President, who used the term "corridors" in the plural, not the  singular. we mean the use of several roads in  Armenia. And if there is an opportunity for dialogue, then I think we  will find solutions, "Grigoryan said.

On the issue of unblocking infrastructures, the Security Council  Secretary added that Armenia is more inclined to use the existing  infrastructure, that is, the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Baku-Russia railway, as  well as Yerevan-Nakhijevan- Julfa, where there is almost no need to  invest in infrastructure. "There it is necessary to lay a small,  kilometer section on the border between Armenia and Nakhchivan, which  will be done very quickly. The western regions of Azerbaijan, using  the infrastructure through Tavush or Syunik, will contact Nakhijevan.  We are leaning towards this option and are discussing in order to try  to move forward>, - he said.
