ArmInfo.. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov voiced the main result of ending the war in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
So, on September 28 in Moscow at a press conference with his Vietnamese counterpart, answering the question about the main results of ending the 44-day war in the Karabakh conflict zone, Lavrov said in particular: "The main result of almost a year that has passed since November 9, 2020 is that stability has been established, it is maintained, and the Russian peacekeeping contingent contributes to the fact that we do not observe any violent actions now. And I will emphasize once again that it is stable there, although of course there are many problems, "Lavrov said, adding that the problems are related to the organization of a peaceful life, the completion of demining operations, the return of detainees, and so on.
At the same time, the Russian minister expressed his conviction that now the main task is to establish there a calm, peaceful life, a stable life, so that the communities of both the Armenian and the Azerbaijani will establish trust between themselves, which was there before the first Karabakh war.
"And to solve the problems of the return of refugees and other everyday issues there," the minister said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also touched upon the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group co- chairs, recalling that the mediators had just recently met in New York with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"They, as I understand it, agreed to resume their trips to the region to visit and talk on the spot with representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and meetings in Stepanakert are also planned. It seems to me that now their main task is to contribute to those positive tendencies that need to be consolidated in every possible way, ensuring the coexistence, cooperation of both the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities, "Lavrov said, stressing once again that this is the main task now. At the same time, he added that now he would not have made more ambitious plans.
