ArmInfo.Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday, on the anniversary of the start of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, offered his mediation to Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"We offer a platform that we plan to create in Tbilisi," the head of the Georgian government said at a briefing.
He recalled that with the mediation of Georgia in June Armenia handed over a map of minefields to Azerbaijan in exchange for 15 prisoners of war. "It was an unprecedented case of successful mediation," said Irakli Garibashvili, VZGLYAD newspaper reports from Tbilisi.
According to him, Georgia intends to continue efforts in this direction, so that the initiatives get "permanent form and character." Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, speaking at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, proposed to world leaders a "peaceful neighborhood initiative" to ensure peace and stability in the Black Sea region.
