ArmInfo. Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in New York to participate in the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides.
As reported by the press service of the RA MFA, the interlocutors touched upon a number of issues on the Armenian-Cypriot agenda, emphasizing with satisfaction the high level of political dialogue, while expressing their readiness to further expand cooperation. In this vein, the parties named trade, defense, education and tourism as areas of mutual interest for cooperation.
Prospects for further deepening cooperation in bilateral, trilateral and multilateral formats were discussed.
Mirzoyan thanked the Government of Cyprus for its support and solidarity in a period full of challenges for Armenia and the Armenian people.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Cyprus exchanged views on regional security and stability. Mirzoyan informed his counterpart about the situation created as a result of the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression against Artsakh. In this regard, the RA Foreign Minister appreciated the principled position of fraternal Cyprus.
