ArmInfo. Armenia takes part in the 34th Moscow International Book Fair, which runs from September 23 to September 27. Armenia's traditional participation in the fair this year is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia.
According to the source, the fair will feature books published in Armenia and abroad over the past two years, including fiction, professional, encyclopedic, historical and album literature.
The purpose of the participation is to popularize Armenian literature, Armenian writers outside our country, increase the level of recognition of the country through literature.
In addition, the "Armenian Literature in Translations" grant program will also be presented during the fair, within the framework of which the Ministry assists foreign publishing houses wishing to publish Armenian classical and modern literature in a foreign language in their country.
It is reported that the event will feature over 40 literary works by Armenian authors published abroad over the past 3 years in 17 languages.
To note, the 34th Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF) will be held at a new site - in the Central Exhibition Complex "Expocentre" in Moscow.
In four days, the MIBF will host more than 300 events at nine venues: meetings with popular authors, book presentations, open discussions and master classes. In particular, Russian writers Narine Abgaryan, Maria Arbatova, Pavel Basinsky, Maria Bobyleva, Polina Dashkova, Vadim Panov, Dmitry Potapenko, Viktor Ryzov, Olga Savelyeva, Dmitry Sokolov-Mitrich, Marina Stepnova, Tatyana Ustinova, Sergey Shargunov and others will deliver a speech at the fair. Yulia Dubinina, Raisa Kichigina, Ivan Okhlobystin, Alexander Prokhanov, Viktor Remizov, Karen Shakhnazarov, Ivan Shipnigov and others will personally acquaint readers with their new books.
