ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic discussed cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms during a meeting on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
As reported by the press service of the RA MFA, from the point of view of further deepening of interaction, the importance of opening a diplomatic representation of Serbia in Armenia was noted.
In the context of intensifying economic cooperation, the interlocutors stressed the importance of creating an Armenian- Serbian intergovernmental commission. Issues related to cooperation between the EAEU and Serbia were also discussed. Touching upon the situation resulting from the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the imperativeness of the repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and civilian hostages in Azerbaijan. In the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the need to resume the process of peaceful settlement under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship was emphasized.
