ArmInfo.Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan continues to insist that the issue of providing a corridor through the territory of the Republic of Armenia to Azerbaijan is not discussed within the framework of the trilateral working group at the level of deputy prime ministers.
So, on September 20, in an interview with journalists on the sidelines of the Armenian Business Forum, Mher Grigoryan assured that the issues that he repeatedly spoke about are being discussed at the Armenia- Russia-Azerbaijan trilateral platform: they relate to possible infrastructure solutions and legal adjustments to these decisions, which, if will be possible, will be accepted.
"Of course, the issue of providing a corridor is not being discussed. It is about performing customs, border, phytosanitary and other control functions," Grigoryan stressed.
To the journalist's remark that the Armenian side has repeatedly stated that without the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the territory of Armenia, without the return of the Armenian captives held by Baku to their homeland, will not resume negotiations, but in fact negotiations are underway, Mher Grigoryan expressed his conviction that in any case it is necessary to conduct dialogue.
"I think we need to talk, we need to negotiate in any case. And any chance that stabilizes the situation in the region, brings peace to the region, must be used," he expressed his conviction.
Touching upon the issue of infrastructures in the region, Grigoryan stated that there are more visible solutions on the part of the railway, because here we are mainly talking about the restoration of infrastructures that once existed and operated. "In this sense, technical solutions are more noticeable here, we are more focused on legal solutions. On the part of roads, the issue of technical solutions to infrastructures is more discussed," he summed up.
To recall, the agreement on unblocking regional communications was reached on January 11 this year at a meeting in Moscow of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Then, for these purposes, it was decided to create a working group at the level of deputy prime ministers of the three countries, which will focus on establishing transport and economic ties in the region. The last, seventh meeting of the group was held in August this year.
