ArmInfo. During the meeting, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Dutch Ambassador to Armenia Nicholas Schermers expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics in the Armenian-Dutch relations and the high level of political dialogue.
As reported by the RA MFA press office, the parties noted the importance of the Dutch embassy opened relatively recently with its residence in Yerevan in the matter of deepening cooperation. Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the readiness of the Armenian side to deepen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, innovation and information technology.
In the context of reforms carried out in Armenia, the parties stressed the importance of cooperation to strengthen democratic institutions, human rights and the rule of law.
The interlocutors discussed the situation resulting from the 44-day war in Artsakh, as well as humanitarian problems requiring urgent solutions. The need for the early return of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians held in Azerbaijan was emphasized.
The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry highly appreciated the position of the Netherlands regarding the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, as well as the adoption by the Dutch parliament of resolutions condemning the actions of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
At the same time, Mirzoyan stressed that the consistent provocative actions and aggressive rhetoric of Azerbaijan should receive an adequate and targeted response from the international community.
