ArmInfo. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired on settlements in the Martuni region of Artsakh. As reported by Artsakh Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan, on September 6 at about 7:30pm from positions located in the direction of the Karmir Shuka-Taghavard villages of the Martuni region of the Republic of Artsakh, the Azerbaijani side fired at the Armenian positions and peaceful settlements.
As a result of the shelling, the house of one of the residents of the Taghavard community was damaged. From shots fired towards the house, 3 bullets hit the wall of the house, 1 bullet hit the window of one of the bedrooms.
"Six civilians, one of whom is a minor, live in the house, which suffered from shelling by the Azeris. After midnight, the Azeri side continued to shoot, no material damage was reported.
The Russian peacekeepers and law enforcement agencies of Artsakh were informed about the incident. Azerbaijani positions located near peaceful settlements pose a direct "real" threat to the life, health and other vital rights of the people of Artsakh, disrupt the normal life and activities of the population of these settlements.
The fact that the Azerbaijani side, especially those responsible for the incidents, is not held accountable for the incidents is a reason for the repetition of such incidents. A comprehensive investigation into all ceasefire violations, including the involvement of Russian peacekeepers, is on the agenda, "the Artsakh Ombudsman noted.
