The court extended the arrest of the head of the Kajaran community  Manvel Paramazyan

ArmInfo. The General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan, chaired by Judge Mnatsakan  Martirosyan, extended the term of arrest for Manvel Paramazyan, head  of the Kajaran community of Syunik region, by two months.

His lawyer Lusine Sahakyan announced this on her Facebook page,  calling the court's decision a "political order". "In addition, as a  lawyer, in general, I find it impossible to analyze the cases of  recent political persecution from the point of view of the law.  However, there is a very interesting circumstance in the materials  submitted to the court. It turns out that the person who submitted  the communication on this case is in direct contact with Deputy Prime  Minister Suren Papikyan and NA Deputy Armen Khachatryan. 

According to the person who submitted the message, these officials  provided him with special telephone numbers for quick and unimpeded  communication, "she wrote.

It should be reminded that the court of general jurisdiction of  Yerevan, chaired by Judge Gagik Poghosyan, on July 10 made a decision  to elect against the mayor of Kajaran Manvel Paramazyan as a  preventive measure in the form of imprisonment for a period of 2  months. Paramazyan was charged under Part 3 of Art. 38-178, part 4 of  Art. 311, part 2 of Art. 154.2 of the RA Criminal Code, in  particular, he is accused of fraud, bribery and obstruction of the  free expression of the will of voters. Lawyer Lusine Sahakyan said  that her client does not accept the charges, considers all this to be  part of the chain of political persecution unleashed against him.

Paramazyan is a member of the Reviving Armenia party founded by the  former governor of Syunik Vahe Hakobyan.
