ArmInfo. The proposal of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to Azerbaijan to resume the dialogue at the highest level, in my opinion, looks quite appropriate. Conservative Party Chairman Mikayel Hayrapetyan expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.
"The time for voicing it was also chosen correctly, especially against the background of the gradually increasing expansionist-ambitious attacks of the Azerbaijani dynastic ruler. Moreover, in my opinion, Pashinyan should go even further and voice his proposals directly to Erdogan, bypassing the intermediate link in the form of Aliyev," he remarked.
In this light, Hayrapetyan stressed that everyone already understands that, by and large, the Azerbaijani dynast does not decide anything in the international arena, entrusting the fate of its own country to Turkey and transnational corporations. The politician believes that the time for Armenia to speak in a language understandable to the world has long come and, for example, the CSTO today is unable to carry out not only a peacekeeping, but also a monitoring mission on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In his opinion, such a mission in the interests of Armenia can be carried out either by the OSCE Minsk Group themselves, or by a mission within the framework of NATO, on the condition that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries exclude military participation in this mission. In parallel with all this, the politician considers it necessary to adopt a new concept of security with the subsequent reorganization of the Armed Forces of Armenia. However, not according to the Russian model, which was defeated in the 44-day war, but according to the modern NATO model with the involvement of military advisers and instructors from the Alliance countries.
"We don't have much time for all this. We see how Russia has already begun the process of deploying its additional military units on our borders. I am practically convinced that this process, by and large, is not even coordinated with the leadership of Armenia. I think that everything is much more complicated and the Russian military are stationed on our borders not for the purpose of their protection alone. Everything is much more complicated - Russia is preparing for a big confrontation in the South Caucasus. Within the framework of which it prepares its line of this confrontation on the territory of Armenia, simply because it considers it as its own, " Hayrapetyan summed up.
