ArmInfo.54 athletes will represent Armenia at the first Games of the CIS countries. This was reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
According to the department, the games will be held on September 4-11. About 1,500 athletes from Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will compete for 184 sets of medals in 18 sports. Athletes must be under 23 years of age.
It is planned that RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan and Deputy Minister Karen Giloyan will watch the performances of the Armenian athletes. The decision to hold the CIS Games in Kazan was made in October 2019 and was scheduled for August 2020, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
